I'm not sure his story is as clear-cut as it has now been black-washed. He was a third division player selected once as a non-travelling reserve and then told to stand down. There are several non-racist reasons why this might have happened.

But hey, Ron Greenwood showed his class there, for sure.

Gutted Percy my niece totally demolished a brilliant scrap book of mine lot's of autographs reports on West Ham and a lot of games I played in ;-(

Autograph books that's one of my biggest regrets Ted having collected all the West Ham players autographs three times over as I was a pupil at Central Park school Thackeray Road East Ham.
Got lost somehow over the years and didn't deem important at the time.
Now it would be wonderful to show the grandchildren all those famous players from yesteryear.

Good read that Anders have read similar before but being old school I can relate to that era !
My brother went to St.Bonaventure's in Forest Gate 1955 and he would get me West Ham players autographs on the bus ffs !!!
Read today that Grealish has bought a mansion with it's own Helipad !!!

How times have changed.
